ABSTRACT
Flipped learning is an innovative learner-based teaching method. With the advent of online education through developments in information technology and multimedia, home education is now more available. For preceding researches, the definition and characteristics of flipped learning, design model of teaching & learning of flipped learning, and problem-based learning were observed, and this educational method was applied to the English Literature Studies, which is a liberal arts elective course at S University. Based on the questionnaire prior to taking the course, the literary genre or class format preferred by the students were reflected in the class syllabus, and the preparation and response of the students prior to the course and during the course for flipped learning were observed and analyzed. In particular, group presentations induced interest and motivational learning for the students through good application of flipped learning and PBL, and discussion exercises contributed to the improvement of students’ thinking skills.
