Socioeconomic Factors Affecting the Diffusion of Smart Farming Technologies
|
This study emphasizes the regional variation in the diffusion of automatic greenhouse facilities as a smart farm technology. Analysis of 152 cities and equivalent entities finds that the percentage of households with side jobs is negatively associated with land size and number of households adopting automatic greenhouse facilities. In contrast, several variables including the population’s level of education, the influx of population, and the percentage of agriculture in regional gross domestic product are positively related to the diffusion of the technology.
