    Abstract

Wearable technological devices are gaining popularity in the medical field with the invention of biosensors that can detect various biomarkers. This stands to offer revolutionary improvement in the ways patients with chronic illnesses are managed. It is already being implemented in developed countries and to a minor extent in the underdeveloped world. Global technology giants are producing cutting edge wearable devices with embedded biosensors as accessories to their major mobile devices as well as devices mainly for healthcare. From glucose monitors, defibrillators, to Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulators, wearable technology is improving the way many chronic diseases are managed today.
