ABSTRACT

Despite South Korea having introduced an ‘Energy-Saving Design Standard’ for the efficient management of energy consumption in buildings, the evaluation of detailed items involves the use of 2D blueprints, a process that results in a loss of work productivity. This study was thus undertaken for the purpose of conserving working hours spent on drafting energy-saving plans in South Korea, through developing a BIM based EPI evaluation platform that enables quantitative evaluations. The results were as follows. 1) Process, input, and output information were extracted upon classifying evaluation items according to the required information of BIM data (conduction, convection, radiation), and a BIM evaluation platform was developed using Architecture Revit 2015. Upon doing so, it is expected that the results of developing a BIM model-based EPI evaluation platform from this study can be utilized as an evaluation platform that may reduce working hours.
