Export Competitiveness of the Indian Automobile Industry: with Special Reference to the South African Market

This study examines export competitiveness of the Indian automobile industry in the South African market based on Comparative Advantage by Countries (CAC), and Market comparative advantage (MCA) methodologies in addition to analysis of historical development and automobile export policies. Trade data between India and South Africa including competitors, such as Korea, Germany, USA and Japan are employed in data analysis covering the study period of 2009 to 2014.
